Skyline GT-R R35 — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Sharper throttle response
- Quicker turbo spool
- Stronger midrange power delivery
- Consistent boost holding
- Maintained factory drivability and safety
- Improved exhaust note
This 2010 R35 came through for a proper Stage 2 calibration after the owner fitted a high-flow intake, upgraded downpipes, midpipe, and full cat-back exhaust. Wastegate upgrades and a new boost control solenoid were added to improve response and manage cylinder pressure more effectively through the mid-range.
The VR38DETT responded well to the hardware changes. Final result was 348 kW at the wheels with 620 Nm of torque — a solid improvement over factory output without venturing into the territory that demands built internals. The calibration focused on dialling in fuelling and ignition timing to suit the freer-flowing exhaust and improved boost control, keeping the delivery smooth and predictable for closed-circuit use.
Is this level of output safe on the stock VR38DETT block and internals?
Yes. 348 kW at the wheels sits comfortably within the safety envelope of the factory block, pistons, and rods when calibration and fuelling are done properly.
What's the main benefit of the wastegate upgrades on a Stage 2 R35?
Upgraded wastegates improve boost stability and response, particularly in the mid-range. They allow finer control over cylinder pressure and reduce the risk of unintended overboosting under varying load conditions.
Does this tune require E85 or will it run on 98 RON?
Fuel type was not recorded for this particular file. Stage 2 R35 tunes are typically calibrated for either 98 RON or E85 depending on the customer's preference and intended use.
