180SX — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Increased power output to 180 kW
- Smooth engine operation
- Improved drivability characteristics
- Enhanced fuel efficiency
- Improved air charge density
- Future ethanol capability with potential 300 kW output
This 1994 180SX runs a variable cam SR20 with a GT2860R turbo and full flex fuel capability on the Haltech Elite platform. The calibration covers pump 98 and E85, letting the driver choose fuel based on availability or track demands. Workshop supplied figures put it at 180 kW at the wheels with 335 Nm of torque.
The intercooler and piping were upgraded to handle the extra heat load, and the fuel system was built out to support ethanol content. Stage 2 keeps it sensible for regular circuit work without chasing absurd peak numbers. Calibration on the Haltech platform gives clean cold starts and stable idle regardless of ethanol mix, which matters when the car sees varied conditions.
Intended for closed-circuit competition use where flex fuel tuning makes sense for the long term.
Does the flex fuel tune automatically adjust for ethanol content?
Yes. The Haltech Elite platform monitors ethanol content via sensor and adjusts fuelling, ignition, and boost targets in real time as the mix changes between fills.
What fuel should I run day to day?
You can run anything from 98 RON pump fuel through to E85. Power peaks on ethanol, but 98 works fine for street driving or when E85 isn't available.
Is this setup reliable for regular track days?
Stage 2 spec with supporting hardware keeps it well within safe margins. The variable cam SR20 and GT2860R are proven combinations for circuit use when calibrated properly.
