The 1GD is a solid workhorse, but factory calibration leaves torque spread thin through the mid-range where you need it most. This Stage 1 file addresses that through wastegate solenoid tuning, boost control recalibration, and injector flow optimisation—no hardware required.
The dyno sheet shows 101 kW at the wheels, up from 88 kW, but the real story is torque: 536 Nm compared to the factory 160 Nm. Drive-by-wire throttle mapping was revised to smooth tip-in response, and high-pressure fuel pump calibration keeps fuelling clean under sustained load.
Ideal for towing work or touring where the factory tune feels flat. On long highway hauls, the extra torque at lower engine speeds makes a noticeable difference without asking the engine to work harder than it needs to.
Does this require any hardware changes?
No. This is a Stage 1 software-only tune on the factory ECU. All gains come from boost control, fuel pump, and injector calibration changes.
What's the real-world benefit of the torque gain?
The jump from 160 Nm to 536 Nm gives much stronger mid-range pull, especially useful for towing or fully loaded touring where the factory tune feels sluggish. Less downshifting on hills and better response from lower revs.
Is this safe on standard internals?
Yes. The 1GD is robust and this calibration stays well within safe parameters for the factory hardware. Workshop feedback has been reliable with regular servicing.
