- Peak output of 581kW at 35psi on E85
This 1996 Supra is a full engine rebuild with a mild 10:1 compression ratio, Kelford 272/278 cams, and a Garrett GTX3582R 1.06 turbo. The Haltech Nexus platform handles both engine management and vehicle CAN/PDM functions, giving clean integration for flex fuel operation on 98 RON and E85. Boost runs from 1.17 bar on pump fuel to 2.41 bar on E85, where the result is 581 kW at the wheels and 815 Nm — a 286 kW gain over stock.
The higher compression works with the flex fuel strategy to keep power up on pump, then lets E85 carry the load once boost and timing ramp. High-pressure fuel pump and upgraded injectors meet flow demand at peak. This calibration is intended for closed-circuit competition use.
Why run 10:1 compression on a 2JZ turbo build?
Higher compression improves response and power on 98 RON, and E85's octane tolerance allows full boost at 2.41 bar without knock. It's a balance for flex fuel operation.
What does the Haltech Nexus add over a traditional standalone?
The Nexus integrates CAN and PDM functions, so body electrics and engine management run from one platform. It simplifies wiring and logging on a full build like this.
Is this file switchable between 98 RON and E85?
Yes, the flex fuel calibration adjusts ignition timing, fuelling, and boost dynamically based on ethanol content. You can fill anywhere between pump and E85.
