B58 Supra on pure850 turbo, fuel system, and 354 kW atw

This GR Supra came in for a proper Stage 3 build around the pure850 turbo, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, improved heat exchangers and auxiliary radiators, plus intake and exhaust work. The goal was reliable power on 98 RON for closed-circuit use, without chasing headline figures at the expense of driveability.

The factory ECU calibration was rewritten to suit the new hardware: fuelling tables, ignition timing, boost control at 1.38 bar, and torque limiters adjusted to protect the drivetrain. TCU shift points and pressure strategies were recalibrated to handle the extra load. Result was 354 kW and 420 Nm at the wheels, up 62 kW over stock.

Heat management was critical. The PWR heat exchanger and auxiliary radiators keep intake temps in check during sustained high-load runs, which is where the B58 platform really benefits from proper supporting hardware. Smooth torque delivery and predictable boost response made the tune straightforward once the fuel system was dialled in.

Common questions
Is the factory ECU capable of handling this level of modification?

Yes. The factory ECU has enough headroom to support this Stage 3 setup with the right calibration changes to fuel, timing, and boost. TCU tuning ensures the transmission copes with the torque increase.

Why 1.38 bar boost on this setup?

That boost level balances power output with engine safety on 98 RON pump fuel. The pure850 turbo is efficient at this pressure, and the fuel system supports it without pushing into dangerous timing or AFR territory.

What's the real-world benefit of the upgraded cooling hardware?

Consistent power delivery under load. The PWR heat exchanger and auxiliary radiators prevent heat soak during track sessions or spirited runs, keeping intake temps stable so timing doesn't pull and power stays where it should.
