This 2008 VE SS runs a Pulsar S480 turbo setup at 0.48 bar, putting down 400 kilowatts and 727 newton-metres at the wheels on pump premium. The L98 platform responds well to forced induction when the fuelling and timing maps are sorted properly, and this file reflects that—built for closed-circuit and off-road competition use.
The calibration focused on maintaining a usable torque curve while keeping the engine safe under boost. Fuelling was dialled in for 98 RON with enough headroom to account for variations in pump quality during summer heat. Ignition timing was pulled where needed to avoid detonation, particularly in the mid-range where these motors can get sensitive once you're making real power.

Is the factory L98 bottom end safe at 400 kW?
The L98 can handle moderate boost on the stock internals when tuned conservatively, but at 400 kW you're approaching the limit. This build is intended for off-road and competition use, and longevity will depend heavily on how it's driven and maintained.
Why 0.48 bar on a turbo this size?
The S480 is capable of much more, but 0.48 bar keeps the power delivery manageable on 98 RON while staying within safe cylinder pressure limits for a factory bottom end. It's about balance, not chasing peak boost.
Can this tune run E85 if the customer switches fuel?
No, this file is calibrated specifically for 98 RON pump fuel. E85 requires a completely different fuelling and ignition strategy, so a new calibration would be needed.
