This VE Maloo R8 runs a full 402 cubic inch LS with Haltech management, a Precision 98mm gen2 promod turbo, and dual fuel systems—16 injectors supporting flex fuel, water meth, and nitrous. Built for closed-circuit competition, it's not a street car pretending to be fast.
The Haltech file brings boost from 0.76 to 0.97 bar and manages fuel delivery across both injection banks. Final result is 550 kilowatts at the wheels and 882 newton metres, recorded on a hub dyno by the supplying workshop. The TH400 with trans-brake and Trutrac diff handle the torque output without drama.
Flex fuel capability means the calibration transitions cleanly between 98 and E85, and both methanol and nitrous maps are dialled in to suit the turbo and cylinder head flow. The file includes fail-safes for inlet temps and knock, typical for a big single-turbo LS on a standalone ECU.
Is this calibration safe to run on 98 RON alone, or does it require E85?
The flex fuel setup allows safe operation on both 98 RON and E85. The Haltech ECU reads ethanol content and adjusts fuelling and ignition accordingly. Full power is reached on E85.
What does the 16-injector setup achieve over a standard layout?
Split primary and secondary injector banks provide finer fuel control at low load and the flow capacity needed at 0.97 bar boost. It also supports the auxiliary methanol and nitrous systems without compromising base fuel delivery.
Can this file be adapted to a different turbo or injector spec?
No. The calibration is specific to the 98mm turbo, injector sizing, and fuelling hardware listed. Changes to these components require a fresh base map and dyno time.
