i30 N Line — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Power increased from 117kW to 133kW
- Torque increased from 264Nm to 345Nm
- Enhanced throttle response
- Sharper driving characteristics
- Engine control optimization
The 1.6L turbo i30 N Line responds well to a full exhaust and custom ECU work. This Stage 2 file pushed power from 117 kW to 133 kW at the wheels, but the real story is torque: 264 Nm to 345 Nm. That's an 81 Nm gain, which changes how the car drives day-to-day, particularly in third and fourth on shorter on-ramps.
The workshop also added decel pop implementation—mapped into the file, not just exhaust resonance. It gives the car more theatre on the overrun without being obnoxious. The full exhaust keeps flow consistent and lets the turbo spool cleanly through the mid-range, which is where this engine lives most of its life on 98 RON.
Is the torque gain too much for the standard clutch and drivetrain?
The OEM clutch can start to slip under load at this torque level, especially in higher gears. Many workshops recommend a clutch upgrade if the car sees spirited use or track days.
What does the decel pop implementation actually do?
It's a calibration tweak that manipulates ignition timing and fuelling on throttle lift to create audible pops and crackles. It's mapped into the ECU file, not just exhaust noise.
Does this tune suit daily driving or just weekend use?
The torque curve makes daily driving easier, not harder. The car pulls stronger from low revs, which suits traffic and overtaking. Decel pops are optional theatre—they don't affect driveability.
