i30 N Line Premium — Stage 1 Remap
- Noticeable performance boost
- Additional 71Nm torque increase
- Aggressive exhaust note enhancement
- Enhanced driving engagement
The 2023 i30 N Line Premium arrived as a solid daily platform, already well-sorted from the factory but with enough headroom in the calibration to make it more responsive without touching hardware. The Stage 1 remap lifted wheel torque from 260 Nm to 330 Nm, a worthwhile mid-range improvement that sharpens throttle response and overtaking pace. Power crept up from 117 kW to 120 kW at the wheels.
The pop and crackle exhaust tune was added to give the car a bit more character on the overrun. It's a software tweak that suits the turbo four, adding theatre without affecting drivability. The burble tune rounds it out for those after a more aggressive exhaust note during deceleration and gear changes.
Is the 70 Nm torque gain safe on the factory clutch and driveline?
The i30 N Line uses shared drivetrain components from the broader i30 range, which handle this output level comfortably in normal driving. We've seen no issues at this stage, though heavy launches or track use may accelerate wear.
Can the pop and crackle tune be switched off?
Not via the factory drive mode buttons. If the customer wants it removed later, a reflash is needed. It's worth discussing preference before the tune goes on.
Does this tune need 98 RON, or will 95 work?
We calibrate for 98 RON as standard. Running 95 may result in timing pull and reduced output, particularly in warmer weather or under sustained load.
