Link Fury E85 conversion and turbo upgrade on a '92 Familia GTR

This GTR rally car came in needing proper flex fuel support and a turbo swap to suit circuit duties. The restrictor install keeps things compliant for the class, while the fuel system was reworked to handle ethanol safely. Upgraded ignition coils and the Link Fury ECU gave us the control needed to calibrate across the flex range.

With 157 kW at the wheels and 316 Nm on tap, it's a solid outcome for a chassis this light. The tune prioritises smooth delivery and reliability over chasing peak numbers—important when the car's being driven hard on closed circuits. Flex fuel means the owner can dial in E85 when it's available or fall back to 98 if needed, without a reflash.

Common questions
Why the restrictor if the turbo was upgraded?

The restrictor keeps the car compliant with rally or circuit class regulations that limit airflow. The larger turbo works more efficiently within that constraint, which helps with spool and thermal management.

Does flex fuel mean I have to run E85 all the time?

No. The tune allows the ECU to adjust automatically based on ethanol content, so you can run anything from 98 RON pump fuel through to E85. You get more power on E85, but the car remains safe and drivable on pump petrol.

Is 157 kW enough for a GTR rally car?

For a front-drive chassis weighing under 1100 kg, it's more than adequate. The focus here is reliable, repeatable power that suits the platform and intended use on closed circuits.
