6 MPS — Stage 3 ECU Tune
- 42% power increase to 215kW
- 27% torque increase to 322Nm
- Improved throttle response and drive spirit
- Boost control optimization
- Enhanced fuel system management
- Wastegate boost solenoid tuning
This 2007 6 MPS came in with a proper shopping list: upgraded turbo, intake, downpipe, and freshly cleaned intake valves. The MZR-DISI responds well when the fuelling and timing are dialled in to match the hardware, and this one recorded 215 kW at the wheels, up from 151 kW factory. Torque lifted to 322 Nm from the standard 253 Nm.
The factory ECU was retuned on 98 RON for closed-circuit use. We worked through fuel and ignition maps to support the upgraded turbo while keeping the engine safe under load. The carbon cleaning before the tune was a smart move—direct injection motors like this benefit from clean valves before you ask more of them.
What sort of power gain should I expect from a Stage 3 MZR-DISI?
This build recorded a 64 kW gain at the wheels, going from 151 kW to 215 kW. Results depend on the specific hardware and condition of the engine.
Is the factory ECU capable of handling a larger turbo?
Yes. The factory ECU can be retuned to support upgraded turbo setups provided the fuelling and ignition strategy are correctly recalibrated for the hardware and fuel type.
Why clean the intake valves before tuning?
Direct injection engines build carbon deposits on the intake valves. Cleaning them restores airflow and ensures the engine runs cleanly under higher loads, which matters when you're making more power.
