E85 VG30 twin-turbo on Haltech — 208 kW at the wheels

Classic Z32 platform, fully built VG30 running twin turbos on E85 for closed-circuit use. The Haltech ECU gave us complete control over fuelling and boost management, with upgraded high-pressure fuel pump and injectors sized to keep the ethanol flowing safely. Drive-by-wire integration kept throttle response clean through the midrange.

Workshop supplied dyno results showed 208 kW at the wheels and 384 Nm, which is solid output for a built VG on ethanol without chasing headlines. Boost control via upgraded solenoids and wastegate setup allowed smooth spool and stable pressure curves. The calibration focused on usable torque delivery and safe AFRs given E85's cooling properties and the platform's age.

File includes full ignition and fuel maps, DBW calibration, and closed-loop fuel trims. Tune is specific to the hardware fitted and E85 only.

Common questions
Why E85 on a VG30 twin-turbo build?

E85 offers superior knock resistance and charge cooling, especially valuable on older platforms running elevated boost. The upgraded fuel system supports the increased flow demand ethanol requires.

Is this tune transferable to another Z32 with similar mods?

No. Every Haltech calibration is specific to the exact hardware, fuel system, and turbo setup. This file is matched to the workshop-supplied hardware list and should not be used on other vehicles without a custom dyno session.

What's involved in the Haltech drive-by-wire setup?

DBW calibration replaces the cable throttle with electronic control, tuned for smooth pedal response and integration with boost and ignition maps. It's all handled within the Haltech ECU.
