Z Nismo — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Torque gains exceeding 200Nm
- Power increase of 20kW
- Enhanced mid-range response
- Improved drivability
- Configurable exhaust pops via mapswitch
The VR30 twin-turbo responds well to calibration adjustments, and this Stage 1 file proves it. Workshop recorded 250 kW at the wheels, up 16 kW from factory, but the real story is torque: 515 Nm, a solid 130 Nm gain that transforms in-gear response without asking anything of the hardware.
Nismo cold air intakes and HKS sequential blow off valves were already fitted. Custom calibration optimised fuel and timing to suit, and added a mapswitch function for those who want theatrical pops and bangs on overrun. Daily map stays clean and progressive; entertainment mode is there when the road opens up.
Straightforward build. No supporting fuel system mods required at this output level, and the factory powertrain handles it comfortably for street and spirited weekend use.
Is this tune safe on 98 RON pump fuel?
Yes. The calibration is developed for Australian 98 RON and suits pump fuel use without additional hardware.
What does the mapswitch function actually do?
It toggles between two calibration maps: one for normal driving, and one configured for pops and bangs on throttle lift and gearshift. User-selectable on the fly.
Does Stage 1 need any fuel system upgrades?
Not at this output level. Factory fuel system and injectors cope with 250 kW at the wheels without modification.
