Improvements
  • Precise throttle mapping and variable cam tuning
  • Boost optimization to 1.7 bar with reduced spool pressure to relieve rod stress
  • Torque ramp strategy for sustained high-end power
  • Overrun burbles implementation
  • Exhaust valve forced open in track modes for aggressive tone
  • Transmission torque limit optimization
720S Stage 2: 602 kW at the wheels with downpipes and intake

The M840T responds well to breathing mods and calibration. This 2020 720S picked up 173 kW at the wheels with aftermarket downpipes, intake piping, and a custom ECU calibration, reaching 602 kW and 867.7 Nm on 1.7 bar of boost. Intended for closed-circuit competition use.

The workshop supplied the dyno figures after dialling in the file. Torque curve sits where you'd expect with the freer exhaust—useful midrange without the factory taper. Power delivery is linear through the upper range, which suits the chassis well on track.

Stage 2 on these cars is a solid step without touching the engine internals. The calibration manages the additional flow and holds boost cleanly through the gears.

Common questions
What fuel was this calibration developed for?

Fuel type was not recorded with this file. We'd typically run 98 RON or E85 for a Stage 2 720S depending on the workshop's preference and availability.

Is this safe on the factory engine and turbo?

This is a Stage 2 file with downpipes and intake. The factory M840T block and turbo handle this output level, but it's for competition use and the workshop should confirm supporting systems are in good order.

What's the real-world difference over stock?

173 kW at the wheels is substantial. Midrange is stronger and top-end pull is notably harder. The car will feel very different on circuit with the reduced exhaust restriction.
