370Z — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Increased power output
- Improved torque delivery
- Enhanced engine responsiveness
- Optimised fuel mapping with aftermarket components
Stage 1 on the VQ37 is about tidying up fuelling and timing around basic bolt-ons, not chasing big numbers. This 2017 370Z picked up 4 kW at the wheels and 5 Nm with an intake, catback exhaust, and the calibration to match. The torque curve flattens out better through the mid-range, and throttle response sharpens up noticeably.
The gains are modest because the hardware is mild and the factory tune on these is already fairly sorted. What you're really doing here is optimising for the new airflow characteristics and ironing out any flat spots that crop up with an intake installed. No drama, no trade-offs—just a cleaner-running naturally aspirated V6 on 98 RON.
Is 4 kW worth it for a Stage 1 tune on a 370Z?
On a naturally aspirated VQ37, the real benefit is in how the car drives—better throttle response and a smoother torque delivery—rather than peak numbers. The tune also ensures the ECU is properly compensating for the intake and exhaust changes.
Can this tune run on regular unleaded?
This file is calibrated for 98 RON. Running lower octane may trigger knock protection and pull timing, so stick with premium.
What's next if the customer wants more power?
You're looking at headers, high-flow cats, and a proper intake manifold swap to push the VQ37 further. Stage 2 calibration would follow those changes.
