Silvia S13 — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- 38% power increase to 130kW
- 14% torque increase to 218Nm
- improved boost control via solenoid management
- enhanced fuel system response
- optimized ignition timing for turbocharged operation
- refined air-fuel ratio mapping for efficiency
A proper old-school S13 setup for closed-circuit use, running a GT2860 turbo with supporting fuel and ignition hardware. The Nistune platform gave us clean access to fuel, timing, and boost control maps, with boost held at 0.69 bar to keep things reliable on 98 RON.
The result was 130 kW at the wheels, up from 94.2 kW, with torque lifting to 218 Nm. The gain of 35.8 kW comes mostly from freeing up the exhaust path and sorting the AFRs under load. Coil packs and upgraded injectors kept ignition and fuelling stable through the mid-range.
This is a sensible stage 2 for an SR20DET that still sees street duty between track days. No hero numbers, just a solid foundation that responds well to the hardware fitted.
Why keep boost at 0.69 bar with a GT2860?
The turbo has more in it, but we stuck to 0.69 bar to keep detonation risk low on 98 RON pump fuel. It's a reliable ceiling for street-driven cars that occasionally see the circuit.
Is the Nistune platform suitable for more aggressive tunes later?
Absolutely. Nistune handles higher boost and E85 conversions well. This calibration leaves headroom for further development if the owner upgrades fuel or adds methanol injection down the track.
What does stage 2 cover on this build?
Stage 2 here includes the GT2860 turbo, intercooler, full exhaust, high-pressure fuel pump, larger injectors, coil packs, and electronic boost control. All the basics to support safe power on a modified SR20.
