R33 RB25 on E85 and Haltech, built for closed-circuit work

This 1996 Skyline R33 came in for a full Stage 3 build around a Haltech ECU, aimed at track use. The RB25 was fitted with a larger turbo, high-flow injectors, upgraded coil packs and trigger kit, and drive-by-wire integration. Fuel system was upgraded to handle E85 with a higher-capacity pump, and boost control was managed via solenoids.

The calibration was developed to suit 1.38 bar of boost and E85 fuel, with the result being 318 kW at the wheels — a gain of 168 kW over stock. Torque sits at 240 Nm post-tune. The owner supplied dyno results from their workshop. This is a full competition-spec build, intended for off-road and closed-circuit use only.

Common questions
What does the Haltech platform offer for this kind of build?

Haltech provides comprehensive engine management for forced-induction setups like this, including full control over fuelling, ignition timing, boost, and integration of drive-by-wire throttle. It's well-suited to E85 and high-output turbo applications.

Why E85 for a track-focused RB25?

E85 offers better knock resistance and cooling properties than 98 RON, which allows more aggressive timing and boost on a turbo build. It's ideal for high-output applications where fuel system capacity has been upgraded.

Is this file suitable for street use?

No. This is a Stage 3 competition build calibrated for closed-circuit and off-road use only, with output and boost levels well beyond factory design parameters.
