R33 GT-R on E85 and Haltech — 193 kW at the wheels

This '96 R33 carried the full RB26 hardware but was running a factory-style tune that left plenty on the table. The owner wanted a proper E85 calibration on Haltech to suit upgraded injectors, a high-pressure fuel pump, and revised boost control via solenoid and wastegate tuning.

The result was 193 kW at the wheels, up from 150 kW, with torque climbing from 240 Nm to 285 Nm. Boost sits at 0.76 bar, which keeps things sensible for a street-driven GT-R that sees occasional track use. The Haltech platform gave us full control over ignition timing, fuel delivery, and closed-loop boost, so the car pulls cleanly through the range without the flat spots you sometimes see on older piggyback setups.

This is a Stage 1 file — software only, but built around the supporting fuel and boost hardware already fitted. Intended for closed-circuit competition use.

Common questions
Why E85 over 98 RON for this build?

E85 offers better knock resistance and allows more aggressive timing on the RB26, especially with the higher boost. It also runs cooler under load, which suits a heavy all-wheel-drive platform on track.

Is this a safe daily tune or track-only?

The calibration is for closed-circuit competition use. That said, the power and boost levels are conservative enough that the car remains tractable for road driving if the customer chooses.

What does the Haltech platform add over a factory ECU?

Full programmability. You get direct control over fuel, ignition, and boost maps, plus proper closed-loop wideband feedback and launch control. Essential when you've moved to E85 and upgraded injectors.
