R34 RB25 on E85 and Haltech, built for 319 kW at the wheels

This R34 Skyline came in running the stock RB25 setup and left as a proper high-output platform intended for closed-circuit competition use. The owner went the full Stage 3 route: highflow turbocharger, upgraded injectors, high-pressure fuel pump, boost solenoids with wastegate control, and drive-by-wire conversion, all managed through a Haltech standalone.

On E85, the tune delivered 319 kW at the wheels and 343 Nm of torque, up from the baseline 158 kW—a gain of 161 kW. Boost was calibrated to 1.72 bar. The Haltech platform gave full control over fuelling, ignition timing, and boost delivery, which is essential when you're chasing this sort of output on ethanol and a larger turbo.

E85's cooling properties and knock resistance made it the right call for a build at this power level, particularly given our summer ambient temps. The calibration focused on safe air-fuel ratios under load and clean spool characteristics for track work.

Common questions
Why E85 over 98 RON for this build?

E85 offers much better knock resistance and charge cooling than 98 RON, which is critical when running 1.72 bar of boost and 319 kW at the wheels. It allows more aggressive timing and safer combustion temps under load.

What does the Haltech platform offer for a build like this?

Haltech provides full standalone engine management, meaning complete control over fuel, ignition, boost, and drive-by-wire. For a Stage 3 build with this level of hardware, it's the flexibility needed to tune safely and extract the power.

Is this calibration suitable for street use?

This is a high-output competition build intended for off-road and closed-circuit use. While the calibration is clean, the hardware and power output are geared toward track environments.
