RB25 Stagea flex fuel build for weekend circuit work

This '98 Stagea was set up to run interchangeably on 98 RON and E85 through the Haltech Elite 2500, giving the owner flexibility at the bowser and a proper power bump when ethanol's on tap. The Hypergear highflow turbo and return flow intercooler handle 1.2 bar comfortably, while upgraded boost control and fuel delivery keep everything stable under load.

With 265 kW at the wheels and 358 Nm, the RB25 pulls cleanly through the midrange without the laggy feel you'd get from a bigger frame. The flex fuel mapping means you can fill with pump 98 for street driving and switch to E85 for track days where the extra cooling and octane really show up.

Intended for off-road and closed-circuit use. The calibration adjusts fuelling and timing based on ethanol content, so there's no need to reflash between fuel types.

Common questions
Does the tune automatically adjust for different ethanol blends?

Yes. The Haltech Elite 2500 uses a flex fuel sensor to read ethanol content in real time and adjusts fuelling and ignition accordingly, so you can run anything from straight 98 RON to E85 without switching maps.

What's the power difference between 98 RON and E85?

Peak figures of 265 kW and 358 Nm are on E85. On straight 98 RON you'll see less, though exact numbers depend on conditions and the ethanol content sensor reading. The cooling effect and knock resistance of ethanol allow more timing and boost.

Is 1.2 bar conservative for this turbo setup?

It's a solid middle ground for a highflow on the RB25. Leaves headroom for the turbo and supporting mods without pushing into the zone where you'd need forged internals or a built bottom end.
