RWD R32 GT-R on E85 and twin GT turbos — 320 kW at the treads

This RWD-converted R32 ran the Apexi Power FC platform with a full fuel and induction overhaul for closed-circuit use. Twin aftermarket turbos replace the factory setup, fed by upgraded injectors, high-pressure pump, and a complete Z32 fuel system to support E85. Boost solenoids and wastegate upgrades keep the 1.86 bar under proper control.

The file was calibrated around the Tomei poncams and the twin-turbo configuration, with the dyno recording 320 kW at the wheels and 353 Nm — a 185 kW gain over the factory baseline. E85 gave us the knock margin needed at this boost level, and the Power FC handled the sequential turbo mapping without drama.

Intended for track and competition environments where RWD conversion and this output level make sense. Not a street proposition in this spec.

Common questions
Why RWD on an R32 GT-R platform?

RWD conversions are common for drift and circuit builds where weight reduction and oversteer characteristics are prioritised. This calibration is specific to the RWD drivetrain configuration supplied by the workshop.

Is the Power FC up to this boost and power level?

The Apexi Power FC is a proven standalone on the RB26 and handles the twin-turbo sequential setup and injector scaling without issue when calibrated properly for E85 and high boost.

What does E85 bring to a build like this?

E85 offers significantly higher knock resistance than 98 RON pump fuel, allowing higher boost and timing at this power level. It also runs cooler under load, which matters on track.
