Evolution 9 Evo — Stage 3 ECU Tune
- 177% power increase to 186kW
- 121% torque increase to 333Nm
- Enhanced boost control and solenoid management
- Optimized fuel delivery system
- Drive by wire calibration refinement
- Multi-fuel compatibility for 98 RON and E85
This 2005 Evo 9 arrived with a proper foundation: high-pressure fuel pump, larger injectors, upgraded fuel system, and boost control hardware all sorted. The brief was to get the Haltech dialled in for flex fuel capability, so the owner could switch between 98 and E85 depending on what's available at the track.
The calibration focused on flex fuel tables, DBW tuning for clean throttle response, and optimising ignition timing for both fuel types. Workshop recorded 186 kW at the wheels and 333 Nm once everything was locked in.
It's a tidy street-circuit setup. Nothing excessive, just solid hardware backed by a stable tune that lets the driver use pump fuel for driving to the track and E85 for sessions. Haltech makes this kind of flex work straightforward once the supporting mods are in place.
Why flex fuel on a track Evo?
Flex fuel lets you run 98 RON for transport and switch to E85 for competition use. It's practical when E85 availability varies between circuits or regions.
Is this tune street legal in Australia?
This is a Stage 3 build intended for off-road and closed-circuit competition use only.
What ECU platform was used?
The vehicle runs a Haltech standalone ECU, which handles the flex fuel sensing and blending tables natively.
