WRX GC8 — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Increased fuel delivery capacity with high-flow injectors
- Improved fuel system pressure stability
- Enhanced exhaust flow and turbo efficiency
- Optimized boost control at 19 psi
- Refined ECU calibration for modified hardware
This '97 GC8 came in with a solid foundation: full exhaust, topfeed conversion with 1150 cc injectors, upgraded fuel pump and adjustable regulator. The owner wanted reliable power for club sprints without chasing hero numbers, so the focus was dialling in fuelling and boost control to suit the hardware.
We settled on 1.31 bar and landed at 170 kW and 274 Nm at the wheels. The topfeed setup and larger injectors gave us plenty of headroom to keep mixtures safe under load, and the tune prioritises consistency over peak numbers. It's a usable map for regular competition use, with fuelling margins where they need to be.
This is typical Stage 2 territory for an EJ20—enough to make the car engaging without asking too much of the bottom end. Intended for closed-circuit and off-road competition use.
Is 1150 cc overkill for this power level?
Not for a safe competition tune. The extra capacity keeps duty cycle conservative under boost and allows room for fuel quality variation or future adjustments without running the injectors hard.
What fuel was this calibrated for?
Fuel type wasn't recorded with this file. If you're requesting it for a customer car, let us know what they'll be running and we can confirm suitability or adjust accordingly.
Can this map be adapted to a similar GC8 with stock injectors?
No. The injector scaling and fuel delivery strategy are built around the 1150 cc units and topfeed conversion. A car on stock injectors needs a different base file.
