Evo X X — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- 24% power increase
- 4% torque increase
- Improved boost control
- Enhanced drive-by-wire calibration
- Optimized fuel system mapping
- Improved engine efficiency
This 2010 Evo X came in with a mixed bag of hardware: aftermarket injectors, unknown spec cams, high-pressure fuel pump, boost control and wastegate solenoids, plus a catback. The job was to sort out the factory ECU calibration and make the most of what was there without chasing big numbers.
We dialled in fuelling to match the injectors, adjusted ignition timing to suit the cam profile as presented, and tuned boost control through the upgraded solenoids. Final result was 169 kW at the wheels and 330 Nm on 98 RON. Nothing heroic, but honest output for a street-driven AWD that needed to be reliable and usable day to day.
The unknown cams made timing optimisation trickier than usual, but the 4B11 responded well once fuel delivery was squared away. This one's built for daily driving with a bit more bite when needed.
Why the relatively modest power figure with all that hardware?
The unknown cam spec meant we had to be conservative with timing, and the factory ECU has limitations compared to aftermarket management. The tune prioritises reliability and driveability over chasing peak numbers.
Can this calibration be adapted if the customer upgrades the turbo later?
Not directly. A turbo upgrade would need a fresh tune to account for different compressor flow, boost targets, and airflow characteristics. This file is specific to the factory turbo configuration.
Is this setup suitable for track use?
It's perfectly capable for club level track days and closed-circuit competition use, though oil and coolant temps should be monitored closely. The conservative tune means there's headroom for hot conditions.
