Evo 9 — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Doubled power output for enhanced acceleration
- 100 Nm torque increase for improved responsiveness
- 2-stage boost control enabling 18 psi maximum boost pressure
- Improved fuel system efficiency with optimized injector mapping
- Enhanced engine breathing through turbocharger management
This 2004 Evo 9 came in with a catback exhaust, high-flow cat, and a 2-stage boost control setup already fitted. The factory ECU was still running conservative fuelling and timing maps suited to stock hardware, leaving plenty on the table.
We dialled in revised boost targets to suit the wastegate solenoid adjustment and lifted timing where safe on 98 RON. Fuelling was rebalanced to hold clean AFRs through the mid-range and up top. The result is a strong 38.2 kW gain at the wheels, now making 76 kW with 232 Nm of torque at 1.24 bar. Peak boost sits well within factory hardware limits, and the tune keeps a margin for warm-weather consistency.
Suited to weekend circuit work and spirited road use where the extra mid-range punch makes a real difference.
Is this safe on the factory turbo and internals?
Yes. Boost is held at 1.24 bar, which is conservative for the factory 4G63 turbo and block. The tune respects safe timing and AFR margins on 98 RON.
Can I run this on 95 RON if 98 isn't available?
Not recommended. The calibration is optimised for 98 RON fuel. Running 95 may cause knock and reduce performance or risk engine damage.
Will this suit my Evo 9 with similar mods?
If your car has the same exhaust, high-flow cat, and boost control hardware, this file is a strong starting point. Always verify fitment and dyno-confirm results on your specific vehicle.
