STI MY08 — Stage 3 ECU Tune
- 193% power increase to 164kW
- 144% torque increase to 301Nm
- Optimised boost control and solenoid management
- Enhanced fuel system precision with high-pressure pump integration
- Flex fuel and E85 compatibility
- Drive-by-wire system recalibration for improved throttle response
This one's built for circuit work with the owner wanting proper flex-fuel capability on a Motec standalone. The EJ25 was fitted with upgraded injectors, high-pressure fuel pump, revised boost control via new solenoids and wastegate, plus drive-by-wire calibration to suit the Motec setup.
The flex-fuel map lets the car adapt between 98 RON and E85 without touching anything, useful for track days where availability varies. Workshop supplied dyno figures came in at 164 kW at the wheels and 301 Nm, which is conservative but sensible given the fuelling upgrade and boosted environment.
Motec gives you proper control over DBW response and boost strategy, and the calibration accounts for ethanol content shifts so the fuel system stays safe across the range. It's a solid foundation for reliable off-road competition use.
Why fit a Motec standalone to an STI?
The Motec platform offers full control over flex-fuel mapping, drive-by-wire calibration, and boost strategy, particularly useful when you've upgraded fuelling and need precise ethanol content compensation.
What does flex-fuel capability actually give you?
The calibration adapts in real time between 98 RON and E85, so you can run whatever fuel is available at the track without reflashing or switching maps manually.
Is 164 kW at the wheels low for a Stage 3 STI?
These figures reflect a conservative, reliable tune focused on fuel system safety and flex capability rather than peak numbers. The Motec setup and supporting hardware allow headroom for further development if needed.
