GC8 WRX with upgraded fuel system on Apexi Power FC

Classic Version 5 EJ207 build for closed-circuit use, targeting reliable mid-range torque with factory engine internals. The Apexi Power FC gave us the headroom needed to manage the upgraded fuel system and revised wastegate control without fighting factory limits.

Car arrived with high-pressure pump, larger injectors, boost solenoids, and external wastegate already fitted. Calibration focused on fuelling accuracy through the midrange and maintaining stable ignition timing under load. Workshop dyno recorded 173 kW at the wheels, up from 121 kW baseline, with torque climbing from 188 Nm to 269 Nm.

The GC8 chassis responds well to this level of output on 98 RON when the fuel delivery is sorted properly. Driveability stayed crisp, and the car pulls cleanly from low revs without the lag you'd expect from a bigger turbo conversion.

Common questions
Why does this build need upgraded fuel injectors and pump?

The factory fuel system on the EJ207 can't support this power level safely. Larger injectors and a high-pressure pump ensure adequate fuel delivery under sustained load, particularly important for closed-circuit work where you're on boost longer than a street pull.

What's the advantage of the Apexi Power FC for this application?

The Power FC is a proven standalone ECU for these engines. It allows full control over fuel and ignition maps without the restrictions of reflashing a factory ECU, and the tuning resolution suits boosted applications where precision matters.

Is this tune suitable for daily driving on pump fuel?

It's calibrated for 98 RON and runs cleanly, but the car is configured for off-road and competition use. The higher output and supporting mods are beyond typical street duty.
