Sorted 2JZ single-turbo conversion with Haltech Elite 2000

The twin-turbo setup on the JZS161 Aristo is fine for street work, but plenty of owners go single for better top-end flow and simpler plumbing on track. This build runs a mid-sized single turbo backed by upgraded injectors, a high-pressure pump, and a Haltech Elite 2000 standalone to manage it all.

The dyno recorded 256 kW and 427 Nm at the wheels on 98 RON — a 10 kW gain over the baseline pull. Not a huge jump, but this is a conservative Stage 2 calibration intended for reliable closed-circuit use without pushing the turbo or fuel system to their limits. Drive-by-wire integration keeps throttle response clean, and the boost solenoid gives proper control over spool and target pressure.

The Haltech platform gives you the flexibility to add E85 or lift boost later without starting from scratch. Clean foundation work.

Common questions
Why only 10 kW gain with a new turbo and standalone ECU?

This is a Stage 2 file calibrated conservatively for reliability. The turbo and fuel system have plenty left in them, but the tune prioritises safe operation on 98 RON without chasing peak numbers.

Can this setup run E85 down the track?

Yes. The Haltech Elite 2000 and upgraded fuel system support ethanol blends. You'd need a new calibration and ideally flex-fuel sensing, but the hardware is ready.

Is drive-by-wire harder to tune than cable throttle?

Not with the Haltech. It handles DBW natively and gives you full control over throttle maps and response curves, so it behaves like a well-sorted cable setup once dialled in.
