STI MY16 — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- 29% increase in power output
- 27% increase in torque delivery
- Improved boost control management
- Optimised fuel system response
- Enhanced engine responsiveness
The MY16 STI runs a pretty conservative tune from the factory, and this Stage 1 file shows how much the EJ25 has left in it on pump fuel. With no hardware changes required, the calibration adjusts boost control, injector scaling, high-pressure fuel pump parameters, and drive-by-wire mapping to safely extract 33 kW and 64 Nm over stock.
The result is 147 kW and 301 Nm at the wheels on 98 RON, measured on a hub dyno. Throttle response cleans up nicely with the DBW refinement, and the torque curve fills out mid-range without pushing the factory hardware past sensible limits. A solid foundation for street use or a stepping stone before going further with supporting mods.
Does this file require any hardware changes?
No. This is a true Stage 1 calibration — software-only. The factory boost solenoids, injectors, and high-pressure fuel pump are recalibrated to support the new maps.
What fuel does it need?
98 RON pump fuel. The tune is calibrated specifically for that octane.
Can this file be used as a base for further modifications?
Yes. It's a conservative starting point that leaves headroom for upgraded hardware down the track, though a revised calibration will be needed once parts are changed.
