Falcon XY — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Improved Fuel Efficiency
- Improved Power
- Improved Torque
This '71 XY runs a Holley Sniper EFI conversion with headers and exhaust. The factory Cleveland responded well to proper closed-loop fuelling and timing optimisation, delivering 144 kW and 381 Nm at the wheels without touching the hardware.
The Stage 1 file focused on cleaning up the delivery between 2000 and 4500 rpm where these engines spend most of their time on the street. Fuel map touched up for 98 RON, ignition advance brought into line with the improved breathing from the headers, and throttle response smoothed out to suit the Sniper throttle body.
Workshop-supplied dyno figures recorded after the calibration. The Cleveland still pulls cleanly through the upper mid-range without the flat spots common to early aftermarket EFI conversions on these engines.
Does this tune require any hardware changes to the Holley Sniper setup?
No. This is a Stage 1 software-only calibration. The tune works with the existing Sniper system, headers, and exhaust as fitted.
What fuel is this XY calibrated for?
98 RON pump fuel. The ignition and fuel maps are optimised for Australian premium unleaded.
Will this suit a street-driven XY or is it competition-only?
This calibration is aimed at street use. The focus is on drivability and mid-range torque rather than peak power.
This calibration was developed for a workshop like yours
The Ford Falcon above was calibrated by Protunes for a partner workshop — they did the vehicle work and kept their customer; we did the calibration engineering on the Holley EFI. Add professional ECU and TCU calibration to your workshop without employing a calibration engineer.
