FG XR50 FG — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Power increase to 361 kW at 20 PSI boost
- Intermediate power level of 333 kW at 14 PSI boost
- Turbocharger upgrade enabling higher boost pressure capability
- Software calibration optimised for turbo performance
- Enhanced engine control management for forced induction
This 2010 FG XR50 came in with a GTX 3582 turbo fitted and was calibrated via PCMTEC to suit the upgraded hardware. The workshop recorded 361 kW at the wheels, up from the baseline 315 kW, with torque lifting from 585 Nm to 640 Nm. Boost was raised from 0.97 bar to 1.38 bar to make the most of the larger compressor.
The Barra platform responds well to this sort of Stage 2 setup. Calibration focused on fuelling, timing, and boost control to keep things reliable under the extra load. Intended for closed-circuit competition use where the extra mid-range torque and top-end power can be put to work safely.
What power and torque did this tune deliver?
The dyno recorded 361 kW at the wheels, up 46 kW from baseline, with torque reaching 640 Nm. Boost was increased to 1.38 bar to support the GTX 3582 turbo.
What modifications were required for this result?
The car was fitted with a GTX 3582 turbocharger and calibrated via PCMTEC. This is a typical Stage 2 combination for the FG Barra.
Is this suitable for street use?
This calibration is intended for off-road and closed-circuit competition use, where the higher boost and output can be exercised appropriately.
This calibration was developed for a workshop like yours
The Ford FG XR50 above was calibrated by Protunes for a partner workshop — they did the vehicle work and kept their customer; we did the calibration engineering on the PCMTEC. Add professional ECU and TCU calibration to your workshop without employing a calibration engineer.
