C63S AMG — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- 17% power increase to 305kW
- 23% torque increase to 601Nm
- Improved throttle response via drive by wire calibration
- Enhanced boost control and solenoid operation
- Optimized fuel system delivery and injection timing
The M178 platform responds well to intervention once you address the fuel delivery and boost control limits. This C63S came through on 98 RON with upgraded high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, wastegate solenoids and revised boost control. The tune brought it from 260 kW to 305 kW at the wheels, with torque lifting from 489 Nm to 601 Nm.
Drive-by-wire calibration was revised to match the torque curve for circuit work, keeping throttle response linear without the factory's soft initial mapping. The fuel system upgrades allowed us to hold clean AFRs through the midrange without leaning out under sustained load. Intended for closed-circuit competition use where the extra 45 kW at the wheels and stronger midrange pull can be used safely.
What fuel system changes are needed for Stage 2 on the M178?
This file requires upgraded high-pressure fuel pump and larger injectors to support the torque increase to 601 Nm. The factory system runs out of headroom quickly once you push past the standard boost targets.
Is this tune suited to street use on 98 RON?
The calibration is designed for closed-circuit competition use. It runs on 98 RON but delivers 305 kW at the wheels with substantially higher torque, so it's intended for controlled environments.
Does the drive-by-wire tuning affect low-speed driveability?
The DBW optimization removes the factory's soft initial mapping to deliver more linear throttle response. It's sharper but predictable, suited to track conditions rather than urban commuting.
