Evo 7 with 9 turbo and BC cams—203 kW at the wheels

This 2002 Evo 7 received the classic hybrid upgrade: Evo 9 turbocharger, BC 270 cams, and a full exhaust to support the extra flow. The 4G63T responded well, going from 145 kW to 203 kW at the wheels with torque lifting from 310 Nm to 360 Nm. Boost was set at 1.72 bar—sensible for a street or track setup on this platform.

The tune focused on clean fuelling through the mid-range and smooth power delivery without spiking. With 98 RON in the tank, the factory bottom end holds up fine at these figures, but this is still intended for closed-circuit use.

Stage 2 builds like this remain one of the more reliable paths for the Evo 7, offering strong response and usable torque without the complexity of a full stroker or standalone conversion.

Common questions
Is the factory bottom end safe at 203 kW at the wheels?

At this power level with good fuelling and no detonation, the factory internals are generally considered safe. Beyond 220-230 kW at the wheels, most builders start looking at forged rods and pistons.

What boost pressure was used for this result?

Boost was set at 1.72 bar to achieve 203 kW at the wheels on 98 RON pump fuel.

Does this tune suit daily driving or just track use?

The calibration is smooth enough for street use, but with the Evo 9 turbo and cam package, it's best framed as a closed-circuit or competition setup.
