Evo 7 GTA — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- 12% increase in power output
- 17% increase in torque delivery
- Enhanced boost control response
- Improved fuel pressure management
- Optimized fuel delivery under boost
- Better throttle response
This file was developed for an Evo 7 GTA running a full complement of bolt-ons: intake, uprated fuel pump, larger injectors, and electronic boost control via the wastegate solenoid. The factory ECU was calibrated to manage 1.72 bar of boost with safe AFRs on 98 RON pump fuel.
The result was 139 kW and 209 Nm at the wheels, up from the baseline 124 kW and 179 Nm. The extra 30 Nm of torque arrives low and holds cleanly through the mid-range, where the 4G63 does its best work on the road or track.
All tuning was done on the factory ECU—no standalone required. This is a sensible Stage 1 for owners chasing reliable gains without opening the motor, suited to closed-circuit competition use.
Does this file require a standalone ECU?
No. This calibration works with the factory ECU fitted to the 2001 Evo 7 GTA. The platform is capable of managing electronic boost control and the fuel delivery for these modifications.
What modifications are needed to run this tune safely?
The file assumes an intake, high-pressure fuel pump, upgraded injectors, and electronic boost control via the wastegate solenoid. All parts are listed in the modifications field. No internal engine work is required.
Is this safe on 98 RON pump fuel year-round?
Yes. The calibration was developed for 98 RON and targets conservative AFRs at 1.72 bar of boost. It's intended for competition use on closed circuits.
This calibration was developed for a workshop like yours
The Mitsubishi Evo above was calibrated by Protunes for a partner workshop — they did the vehicle work and kept their customer; we did the calibration engineering on the Factory. Add professional ECU and TCU calibration to your workshop without employing a calibration engineer.
