LS1-swapped Y62 Patrol dialled in for touring torque on 98

This 2010 Patrol arrived with an LS1 5.7L conversion already in place, but the factory ECU calibration hadn't been touched to match the upgraded fuelling hardware. The owner needed a safe, road-friendly tune that made the most of the high-pressure pump, larger injectors, and boost control solenoids without chasing peak power.

We delivered a Stage 1 file focused on drivability and low-end grunt. Power lifted from 128 kW to 136 kW at the wheels, but the real story is torque: from 202 Nm to 395 Nm. Drive-by-wire calibration was smoothed out to suit the extra load, making throttle response predictable under touring conditions on 98 RON.

The result is a capable long-range tourer with enough torque to handle weight and gradients without hunting for gears. No hardware changes required beyond what was already fitted.

Common questions
Why such a large jump in torque compared to power?

The LS1 and upgraded fuelling hardware were already capable of more torque, but the factory ECU wasn't calibrated to use them. The Stage 1 file unlocked what the hardware could safely deliver, with the focus on low-to-mid range drivability rather than top-end power.

Is this tune suitable for daily driving and towing?

Yes. It's a road-focused calibration on 98 RON with smooth drive-by-wire response. The torque curve suits loaded touring and highway driving without needing to work the engine hard.

Does this require any additional hardware beyond what's listed?

No. This is a Stage 1 software-only tune calibrated for the fuel pump, injectors, and boost control solenoids already installed on the vehicle.

This calibration was developed for a workshop like yours

The Nissan Patrol above was calibrated by Protunes for a partner workshop — they did the vehicle work and kept their customer; we did the calibration engineering on the Factory. Add professional ECU and TCU calibration to your workshop without employing a calibration engineer.
