R35 GTR R35 — Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune
- 25% power increase to 360kW
- 18% torque increase to 547Nm
- Four switchable performance maps
- Variable boost control via cruise stalk
- Refined transmission calibration for smoother shifts
- Rolling anti-lag and launch control enabled
This 2008 R35 GTR arrived with a cat-back exhaust already fitted, and the brief was simple: extract what the VR38 had left on the table without touching hardware. Using ECUTEK for both ECU and TCU, we recalibrated ignition, fuel, boost solenoid duty, and optimised fuelling to suit 98 RON. The result was 360 kW at the wheels, up from 288 kW — a gain of 72 kW. Torque lifted from 464 Nm to 547 Nm.
The TCU calibration sharpens shift timing and firmness under load, particularly useful for circuit work where the GR6 transmission benefits from decisiveness. This is a solid stage 1 result on pump fuel without the expense of bolting anything new onto the car. Tuned for off-road and closed-circuit use.
Does this tune require any hardware changes?
No. This is a stage 1 software-only calibration. The vehicle had a cat-back exhaust already fitted, but no other modifications were required.
What does the TCU calibration change?
Shift points, shift firmness, and torque converter lockup strategy are all recalibrated to suit the additional power and torque. It tightens up the GR6 behaviour under load, especially on track.
Is this safe on 98 RON pump fuel?
Yes. The calibration was developed and validated on 98 RON, with fuel system optimisation and ignition timing mapped accordingly.
This calibration was developed for a workshop like yours
The Nissan R35 GTR above was calibrated by Protunes for a partner workshop — they did the vehicle work and kept their customer; we did the calibration engineering on the ECUTEK. Add professional ECU and TCU calibration to your workshop without employing a calibration engineer.
