Landcruiser 200 — Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune
- 37% power increase
- 17% torque increase
- Improved fuel efficiency
- Enhanced boost control
- Optimized fuel injection
This 2014 200 Series came in for a proper ECU and TCU tune after the owner sorted the fuel system and wastegate control. The 1VD responded well to the injector and high-pressure pump upgrades, paired with revised boost control and drive-by-wire calibration. Wheels showed 122 kW and 522 Nm, up 33 kW and 76 Nm on the factory file.
The TCU tune makes better use of the extra torque, holding gears longer under load and cleaning up the shift feel when towing or touring. Factory torque management was pulled back where it made sense, letting the transmission work with the engine instead of against it.
This is a solid road-going Stage 2 setup for anyone wanting more grunt without chasing big-turbo territory. The fuel system work is doing the heavy lifting here.
Why does this build include both ECU and TCU tuning?
The TCU file was revised to handle the extra torque and improve shift behaviour under load. Factory torque limiting and shift strategy don't suit the updated power curve, so both files need attention for a clean result.
What does Stage 2 mean for a 200 Series 1VD?
Stage 2 here covers fuel system upgrades—injectors and high-pressure pump—plus wastegate and boost control, all calibrated together. It's a step up from a flash-only tune but stops short of turbo or intercooler work.
Is this suitable for towing and highway work?
Yes. The extra torque and revised TCU calibration are well suited to loaded touring and long highway runs, where the 1VD benefits from improved response and better gear holding.
