Golf R MK7.5R — Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune
- 65kW power increase at the hubs
- 101Nm torque gain
- Custom engine calibration
- Custom transmission calibration
- Optimized intake and exhaust flow
This MK7.5 Golf R came in with a solid supporting package already fitted: cold air intake, downpipe, upgraded intercooler, full cat-back exhaust with Varex muffler. The brief was straightforward Stage 2 treatment, addressing both the ECU and TCU to make the most of the hardware.
The dyno result recorded 263.2 kW at the wheels, up from a baseline of 207.3 kW—a gain of 55.9 kW. Final torque came in at 420.3 Nm. The TCU file smooths out shift behaviour under load and keeps the DSG responsive without the stock hesitation.
Intended for off-road and closed-circuit use. The Varex setup gives flexibility for noise compliance when needed, and the Wagner intercooler holds temps steady through back-to-back runs in warmer weather.
What modifications are required for this Stage 2 file?
At minimum, a high-flow downpipe and upgraded intercooler. This build also ran an intake and full exhaust, which helps with flow and heat management.
Does the TCU tune affect daily driveability?
It sharpens shift timing under load but remains predictable in normal driving. No harsh engagement at low speeds.
Is this suitable for 98 RON pump fuel?
Yes. The file is calibrated for Australian 98 RON as supplied.
