The F20 135i is a solid platform for a Stage 2 build once you've freed up the exhaust. This one came in with a downpipe and BMC panel filter already fitted, and we supplied both engine and transmission calibration to suit.
Power lifted from 202 kW to 216 kW at the wheels, but the real story is torque: 375 Nm to 470 Nm. That's 95 Nm extra, which transforms how the car drives on the street. The trans tune ensures the ZF box holds gears where you want them and shifts cleanly under the increased load.
N55s respond well to this level of work without asking for anything heroic. Downpipe does most of the heavy lifting; the tune just makes sure the engine uses it properly across the range.
Is the transmission tune necessary for a Stage 2 N55?
Yes. The factory TCU calibration isn't set up for the extra torque, so you'll get reluctant shifts and early upshifts under load. The trans tune firms things up and raises torque limits so the box works with the engine tune instead of against it.
What fuel should this calibration run on?
Fuel spec wasn't recorded with this file, so you'll need to confirm with us before loading. Most Stage 2 N55 tunes we supply are written for 98 RON pump fuel.
Will 216 kW at the wheels stress the N55 long-term?
Not particularly. This is a conservative Stage 2 result for the platform. The downpipe and panel filter keep inlet and exhaust temps sensible, and we're not chasing big boost spikes.
