Civic — Stage 3 ECU Tune
- 55% power increase
- 21% torque increase in mid-range
- 80Nm additional torque in higher RPM range
- Improved fuel efficiency
- Progressive power ramp for engine longevity
- Boost control optimization
Full hardware build on the 1.6 DTEC platform, intended for off-road and closed-circuit competition use. The factory ECU was recalibrated to support the ATP highflow turbo, front-mount intercooler, upgraded high-pressure fuel pump, larger injectors, and revised boost control via new solenoids and wastegate.
The workshop recorded 93 kW at the wheels, up from the factory 60 kW baseline — a 33 kW gain — with torque lifting from 211 Nm to 255 Nm. Full exhaust and intake changes let the turbo breathe properly, and the fuel system upgrades were necessary to maintain safe AFRs under sustained load.
Calibration focused on clean spool, stable fuelling through the midrange, and safe EGTs on track. The factory ECU has enough headroom for this level of hardware when properly mapped, though you're working within tighter limits than standalone platforms.
Why stick with the factory ECU on a Stage 3 diesel build?
The factory Honda ECU can handle this hardware level when recalibrated correctly. It avoids the cost and complexity of a standalone, and keeps OBD functions intact for compliance when required.
What fuel system changes are actually necessary for 93 kW at the wheels?
The build used an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump and larger injectors to support the increased fuelling demand from the ATP turbo. Without those, you'll hit fuel cuts or run lean under boost.
Is this setup viable for regular road use?
This is a full competition build intended for off-road and closed-circuit use. Driveability and emissions compliance are secondary to performance and durability under track conditions.
