The K24 in this 2009 CU2 responds well to the usual Stage 2 treatment, though power gains remain conservative given the factory ECU's ceiling. With high-pressure fuel pump, upgraded injectors, boost solenoid control and Drive By Wire recalibration, we lifted output from 82 kW to 91 kW at the wheels — a 9 kW gain — and torque from 212 Nm to 235 Nm on 98 RON.
The factory platform limits how far you can push timing and fuelling, so expectations need to stay realistic. The tune focused on smoothing throttle response and extracting what the hardware would allow without risking lean spots or knock under load. Driveability is notably improved, particularly in the midrange where the torque curve fills out.
For workshops chasing bigger numbers, a standalone ECU swap is the next step. As a bolt-on Stage 2 package this tune delivers a cleaner, more responsive street car without stepping outside the factory ECU's safe envelope.
Why are the power gains relatively small for a Stage 2 tune?
The factory ECU on the CU2 has hard limits on timing, fuelling and boost control. Without a standalone platform, you're working within narrow margins. The 9 kW gain reflects what's safely achievable on factory hardware.
What does the Drive By Wire calibration improve?
It reduces throttle lag and smooths tip-in response, particularly in the first third of pedal travel. The factory mapping is often conservative and non-linear; recalibrating it makes the car feel more connected and predictable under part throttle.
Is this tune safe for daily driving on 98 RON?
Yes. The calibration stays within safe margins for knock and AFR on pump 98. It's a street-focused tune with improved driveability, not a high-risk competition file.
