Stage 1 B48 320i — 31 kW gain on factory hardware and 98 RON

The B48 responds well to factory ECU calibration on 98 RON, and this 2020 320i proves it. We've worked boost control, wastegate solenoid mapping, drive-by-wire tables, high-pressure fuel pump duty, and injector scaling to bring the engine from 79 kW to 110 kW at the wheels, with torque lifting from 212 Nm to 280 Nm. All done without touching the hardware.

It's a clean Stage 1 file suited to daily use on pump fuel. The HPFP mapping and injector calibration keep fuelling stable under load, and the throttle response sharpens up nicely through the drive-by-wire changes. Good headroom in the factory turbo and fuel system makes this a straightforward flash for workshops after a reliable street tune.

Common questions
Is this tune safe on the factory turbo and fuel system?

Yes. The calibration works within factory hardware limits, tuning boost control, HPFP duty, and injector scaling without requiring physical upgrades.

What fuel does this file require?

98 RON pump fuel. The tune is calibrated specifically for Australian 98 and should not be run on lower octane.

Can I stack a Stage 2 tune later with bolt-ons?

Absolutely. This Stage 1 file leaves room for a re-tune if the customer adds an intake, exhaust, or intercooler down the track.
