S3 8V — Stage 1 ECU & TCU Tune
- +23kW power increase
- +75Nm torque increase
- Improved throttle response
- Enhanced acceleration performance
- Smooth power delivery
- Sharper engine response
The EA888 in the 2016 S3 responds well to calibration changes even without hardware upgrades. This file set targets both ECU and TCU, lifting output to 166 kW at the wheels with 293 Nm of torque while keeping the factory turbo, intercooler, and fuel system intact.
The TCU tune complements the extra torque with revised shift points and lockup behaviour, helping the DSG stay in the powerband without hunting under partial throttle. The result is a noticeable step up in mid-range urgency without asking much from the drivetrain.
Ideal for owners after a step up from stock before committing to hardware. The dyno figures were supplied by the workshop post-install.
Does this require a downpipe or intake?
No. This is a true Stage 1 tune with stock hardware retained. No physical modifications are needed.
What does the TCU tune change?
It adjusts shift points, lockup strategy, and torque limiters to suit the extra output from the ECU file. The gearbox stays engaged where it's needed and responds better under load.
Will this work on the quattro model?
This file is calibrated for the FWD variant. Quattro models run different transmission control and would need a separate TCU file.
This calibration was developed for a workshop like yours
The Audi S3 above was calibrated by Protunes for a partner workshop — they did the vehicle work and kept their customer; we did the calibration engineering. Add professional ECU and TCU calibration to your workshop without employing a calibration engineer.
