Arteon — Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune
- 30kW power increase
- 86Nm torque increase
- Refined transmission tune
- Enhanced turbocharger efficiency
- Optimized boost response
This 2018 Arteon came through for a proper Stage 2 setup after the owner had already sorted the intake, turbo upgrade, and a full exhaust system from turbo inlet through to the tips. The calibration covered both ECU and TCU to make the most of the hardware.
Wheels saw 202 kW and 439 Nm, up from 172 kW and 353 Nm. The torque lift is where you feel it on the road—86 Nm is a meaningful step once the transmission map is dialled in to hold gears where they're useful.
The mods are sensible for the platform: bigger turbo, free-flowing exhaust, decent intake. No heroics, just a solid setup that leaves headroom if the owner wants to push further down the line. Files were built to suit the hardware as fitted.
What's the torque jump doing to the DSG on this car?
The TCU tune accounts for the extra torque and adjusts shift pressure, timing, and lock-up strategy accordingly. At 439 Nm it's still well within safe margins for the factory dual-clutch when calibrated properly.
Is the turbo upgrade a direct fit or does it need custom work?
The turbo itself is a direct replacement, but it's paired with an aftermarket turbo inlet and downpipe. No custom manifold or relocation required on this build.
Can this file be adapted if the customer adds a bigger intercooler later?
Yes. If an upgraded intercooler goes on, we'd revise the file to take advantage of the lower charge temps, especially in summer heat where inlet temps climb quickly on stock cores.
