Cupra Simos 19 — Stage 1 ECU Tune
- Power increase of 29% (167kW to 216kW)
- Torque increase of 20% (362Nm to 434Nm)
- Improved engine thermal efficiency
- Improved transmission thermal efficiency
- Enhanced driving dynamics with customizable exhaust pop functionality
- Optimized brake system performance
The EA888 in this FWD Cupra responds well to Simos 19 recalibration without touching the hardware. This stage 1 file lifted wheel power from 167 kW to 216 kW, with torque climbing from 362 Nm to 434 Nm. The workshop supplied dyno figures showing a 49 kW gain purely through software.
Beyond the usual torque and timing work, the file includes a pops and burble toggle via cruise control, start/stop integration, motor sound enhancement, and brake boosting for those who launch regularly. Thermal efficiency optimisation keeps things stable under Australian summer conditions and sustained highway work.
Clean calibration on a platform that takes well to adjustment. Files are tailored for 98 RON pump fuel unless otherwise noted.
Does the pops feature affect daily driveability?
It's toggled via cruise control, so you can enable or disable it as needed. When off, the car drives completely normally.
Is this the limit for a stage 1 tune on the Simos 19?
It's a healthy result for a software-only file on the EA888. Further gains typically require supporting hardware like a larger intercooler or upgraded fuelling.
What's the thermal efficiency optimisation doing?
It refines fuelling and timing under load to manage heat buildup, particularly useful in stop-start traffic or long highway runs in warm weather.
