This MK7.5 Golf R came in with an aftermarket intake, downpipe, and full exhaust already fitted. The customer wanted a sensible Stage 1 file that respected the factory turbo and internals while taking advantage of the improved flow.
The calibration delivered 197 kW at the wheels, up 18 kW over stock, with torque lifting to 411 Nm. Fuelling and timing were adjusted to suit 98 RON and the reduced backpressure from the exhaust setup. No supporting hardware changes were required beyond what was already fitted.
The result is a solid daily tune for an all-wheel-drive hatch that spends most of its life on suburban roads and the occasional highway run. The EA888 responds well to conservative tuning when the exhaust side is opened up, and this file keeps everything within safe margins for long-term use on pump fuel.
Does this require any hardware changes beyond the bolt-ons already fitted?
No. This is a Stage 1 software-only tune calibrated for the existing intake, downpipe, and catback system. The factory turbo, intercooler, and fuel system handle the load without modification.
What fuel is this file mapped for?
98 RON pump fuel. The calibration was developed specifically for Australian premium unleaded, not E85 or race fuel.
Is this suitable for daily driving?
Yes. The tune operates within safe parameters for the factory turbo and internals, making it appropriate for regular street use including highway commuting and typical daily driving loads.
