Amarok — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- 50% power increase
- 23% torque increase
- Enhanced thermal control
- Reduced engine oil temperature by approximately 20 degrees Celsius
- Improved fuel efficiency
- Boost control optimization
This BiTDI build was set up for off-road and closed-circuit use with a proper hardware foundation before we touched the factory ECU. The workshop supplied a complete exhaust system, turbo modifications, enhanced radiator core, and relocated the oil cooler—sensible prep for the heat and sustained load these trucks see in Australian conditions.
The file addressed fuelling, timing, and boost across the operating range to suit the modified turbo and freer-breathing exhaust. At the wheels, it delivered 105.6 kW and 391 Nm, up from 70.7 kW and 317 Nm. Solid mid-range torque improvement without asking too much of the platform.
Cooling capacity matters on these, especially with the added heat from higher output. The radiator and oil cooler work meant we could push calibration harder without second-guessing thermal headroom.
What hardware is required for Stage 2 on the 2.0 BiTDI Amarok?
This build included turbo modifications, a full exhaust system, upgraded radiator core, and relocated oil cooler. All of those support the calibration changes and manage heat under sustained load.
Is this safe for daily use or towing?
This Stage 2 setup is intended for off-road and closed-circuit competition use. The cooling mods help, but the calibration is optimised for performance rather than factory duty cycles.
How much power did it gain at the wheels?
The dyno results showed 105.6 kW at the wheels, up 34.9 kW from the baseline 70.7 kW. Torque lifted from 317 Nm to 391 Nm.
