2JZGTE GS300 on Haltech — tidy midrange lift on 98 RON

Factory GS300s never left Japan with the 2JZGTE, so this is a clean swap already running Haltech. The goal was to extract a reliable baseline from the turbo motor without asking too much on 98 pump. Drive-by-wire needed proper scaling to match the new fuel system, and the boost control solenoid gave us accurate wastegate authority.

We held boost at 0.34 bar but rewrote the fuel and ignition tables to suit the upgraded pump and injectors. Torque climbed from 189 Nm to 251 Nm, with power lifting from 121 kW to 137 kW at the wheels. The curve is far more usable now, and there's headroom if the owner steps up the hardware later.

This is a street-driven car on 98 RON, so we kept timing conservative and left margin in the fuel model. For closed-circuit or off-road competition use, there's more in it with E85 and higher boost.

Common questions
Why the torque jump with no boost increase?

The factory tune was never written for this engine. With proper fuelling, ignition timing, and DBW calibration, the 2JZ responds well even at the same boost level.

Is this safe for daily use on 98 RON?

Yes. We've kept timing and AFR targets conservative for pump fuel and Australian summer heat. The tune is designed for road use at this power level.

Can this file be adapted if I upgrade the turbo later?

It's a good baseline, but a larger turbo will need a fresh calibration to suit the new compressor map and flow characteristics.
