The 8AR-FTS in the NX200T is a capable unit straight out of the box, but the factory calibration leaves room on the table for drivability and response. This Stage 1 file focuses on boost control optimization and wastegate solenoid tuning to bring the turbo on earlier and hold pressure more consistently through the mid-range.
We've also refined the drive-by-wire calibration to sharpen throttle response without introducing jerkiness, and dialled in the high-pressure fuel pump mapping and injector tuning to support the extra torque. The result is 134 kW at the wheels, up from 125 kW, with torque lifting from 384 to 410 Nm.
No hardware changes required. The tune runs safely on 98 RON and suits daily driving, highway touring, and spirited road use. It's a sensible lift for a vehicle that spends most of its life in urban traffic and the occasional country leg.
Does this tune require any hardware changes?
No. This is a software-only Stage 1 file. The factory hardware is retained, and the tune is calibrated for 98 RON pump fuel.
What does the boost control optimization actually change?
We've refined the wastegate solenoid duty cycle and boost targets to improve spool and hold pressure more consistently through the mid-range, where the 8AR-FTS tends to taper off in stock form.
Is this tune safe for daily use in Australian conditions?
Yes. The fuel pump and injector maps are calibrated conservatively to suit summer heat and varied fuel quality. It's a reliable daily driver tune with improved response and mid-range torque.
