Amarok — Stage 2 ECU Tune
- Improved Fuel Efficiency
- Improved Power Output
- Improved Torque Delivery
- Enhanced Boost Control
- Optimised Fuel Injection Timing
The 2015 Amarok 2.0 diesel was never going to set the world on fire in factory trim, but this Stage 2 file—backed by upgraded high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, and revised boost hardware—gives it a proper shove where it counts. We've moved from 78 kW to 95 kW at the wheels, with torque climbing from 359 Nm to 381 Nm. Nothing heroic, but honest.
The fuel system work was the real focus here. Stock HPFP and injectors are the bottleneck on these BiTDI lumps, so sorting that first let us push calibration further without leaning out or chasing smoke. Drive-by-wire tuning smooths throttle response, and boost control via the wastegate solenoid keeps it all linear. It's a practical working truck upgrade—more pull when loaded, less hunting on grades, and still plenty of margin for Australian summer heat and long highway hauls.
Why the torque gain isn't bigger with injectors and HPFP upgraded?
The factory block and drivetrain set the ceiling here. We've prioritised reliability and driveability over chasing numbers—this keeps the engine safe under load and heat without stressing clutch or driveline components.
Does this file need 98 RON, or will standard diesel do?
Standard Australian diesel is fine. The calibration is written for pump fuel—no exotic blends or additives required.
What else would need upgrading to go further?
You'd be looking at turbo, intercooler, and likely clutch or torque converter work. At that point you're into a full hardware build, not just tuning.
